White Flour,Gram flour stored in the refrigerator will keep them insect-free and also retain there freshness for long.pickles can often get fungal growth, to avoid this take an empty jar invert it over burning coals to which pinch of asafoetida has been added.To preserve green peas ,pack them in polythene bags before putting them in the refrigerator. The best way to preserve the color of turmeric is to apply little ghee to the bottom and sides of the jar before storing it. Coconut preserved in deep freezer keeps in fresh for days. Adding a few peppercorns to the the bottle of honey will keep them away from ants. The best way to prevent milk from geeting spoiled is by adding a teaspoon of sodabicarbonate while boiling milk. It will not get spoiled even if you forget to put it in the refrigerator. Adding two to three cloves in the sugar will keep ants away.Papad wrap in polythene sheet and store along with rice or dal prevent it from drying and breaking.To keep papad fresh and crispy store it in air tight plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator .

To keep the coconut fresh after it broken into two half just rub a little salt over it,or sprinkle a ittle salt water on it.Biscuit can remain fresh for a longer time if a piece of blotting paper is kept at the bottom of the container . Never store potatoes near onions!.As potatoes rot quickly if stored near onions. For Storing Mushrooms cover them with a damp cloth or in a paper bag with holes in the cloth/bag for ventilation. This will keep them dry and Refrigerate for long life. To preserve ginger-garlic paste,Fry them in oil before grinding and store in the same oil. For Storing peeled potatoes Mix a tsp. of vinegar in cold water and keep the potatoes in it. This will keep them fresh for 4 -5 days. The best way to preserve dry fruits and sugar is to add a couple of cloves to the container.

Fruits & vegetables can remain fresh for a longer time if wrapped in a newspaper before storing them in the fridge. To keep the cheese fresh & free from fungus just add a pinch of sugar in the cheese box. To Keep green chilies fresh for a longer time, just remove their stems while storing them.The method for preserving peas like mafco,is to tie the shelled green peas in a cloth and dip in boiling water for three minutes. Then dip in chilled water for three minutes. Dry under the fan till the extra moisture is removed and then pack into airtight jars or sealed packets. Freeze and use when peas are too costly. They will not spoil for 2 years. Paneer wrapped in blotting paper and stored in the refrigerator stays fresh for a longer time. Biscuits will remain fresh & crisp for a longer time if kept in a polythene bag and stored in a refrigerator. To keep insects away from rice add in 50 gms of powdered dry mint leaves to 10 kgs of rice this will not only keep insects at bay but also impart delicious flavour to the cooked rice. Eggs won't get spoilt easily if washed and put slowly in a container full of lime water or mustard oil.
