Preparation Time : 5 minutes.
Ingredients :
2 cups fresh curds
1 tsp jeera powder
1/2 tsp black salt (sanchal)
salt to taste
For
the tempering :
1 tsp oil
1/2 tsp rai
a pinch hing
For
the garnish :
chopped dhaniya

Method:
Beat the curds till smooth. Add jeera
powder, black salt and salt and mix
well.
Add 4 cups of cold water and mix well.
If you want to temper the chaas, heat
the oil, add rai, hing and when rai
crackle, pour the tempering over the
buttermilk.
Serve chilled, garnished with chopped
dhaniya

Chaas makes a delicious accompaniment
for handvo and even with daldhokli.
