Preparation
Time : 20 minutes.
Cooking Time : 20 minutes.
Ingredients :
For the dal :
2 cups toovar dal
3 pieces cocum
2 tomato, chopped
2 tbsp gur
1/2 tsp haldi
1/2 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
For
the dhoklis :
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka
atta)
1/2 tsp haldi
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp hing
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste
1 bunch of dhaniya, chopped
For
the tempering :
1/4 tsp rai
1/4 tsp jeera
5 curry leaves
1 cloves
1sticks dalchihi
1/4 tsp hing
1 tbsp oil
2 tbsp peanuts

Method:
For the dal :
Wash and pressure cook the dal in
water. Put the above ingredients and
temper the dal When the dal is cooked,
cool slightly and blend till it is
smooth.
Add 3 cups of water, the cocum, tomato,
jaggery, turmeric powder,salt, chilli
powder and simmer for 10 minutes.
For
the dhoklis :
Knead all the ingredients together
with enough water to make a firm dough.
Divide into four portions and roll
out into thin chapatis. Gently roastt
on both sides and cool. Cut the chapatis
into diamonds or squares and keep
asides.
How
to proceed :
Just before serving, boil the dal
and slowly add in the dhokli pieces
and simmer for 15 minutes. Garnish
with the coriander and serve hot.
Please
Note :
Add the dhoklis one by one into the
dal as otherwise they could form one
big lump. Add more water if the dal
thickens while simmering.
