Preparation
Time : 15 minutes.
Cooking Time : 25 minutes.
Ingredients :
1 1/2 cups Basmati rice
1 1/2 cups potatoes, diced
1 cup green peas
1 cup carrots, diced
2 laung
1 stick dalchini
1/2 tsp jeera
1/4 tsp hing
1/2 tsp haldi
1 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste |
Method:
Wash and drain the rice. Keep aside.
Heat the ghee, add the laung, dalchini,
jeera and fry for 30 seconds.
Add hing , vegetables and salt and
stir for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the turmeric
powder, chilli powder, and rice and
stir again for 5 minutes till it is
evenly mixed. Add 3 cups of hot water,
cover and simmer till the rice is
cooked. Serve hot with kadhi and papad.
Please Note :
You can pressure cook the rice after
step 5 if you are in a hurry.
