To Prepare Rasam Powder
Ingredients :
Kali mirchi 100 gms
Jeera seeds 100 gms
Dhaniya seeds 100 gms
Method :
In a bowl heat and fry the above
ingredients one by one until its colour
changes.
Don't use oil. Grind well the fried
ingredients
until it becomes fine powder.
Store this powder in an air tight container
and can be readily used for preparing
various
types of Rasam. |
To
prepare Rasam
Ingredients :
Imli (Ripe) 25 gms
Water 200 ml (preferably warm water)
1 tbsp salt
1 small tomato -chopped
2 garlic flakes crushed
2 tbsp Dhaniya leaves finely chopped
1 tsp rai seeds
a pinch of hing
3-4 red chillies
5-6 curry leaves
1 tbsp cooking oil
Method :
Soak imli and salt in water for about
10-15 minutes. Smash and extract the
juice, filter it and add tomato to
it. Add 1 tbsp of Rasam powder, garlic
and dhaniya leaves to the above extract.
Heat Oil, allow rai seeds to crackle.
Add hing , red chillies and curry
leaves to it.
Transfer the above extract and bring
it to a boil.
